I swear on all that is holy that I will TEAR THAT WOMAN'S THROAT OPEN if that's what's required to STOP THE FUCKING SINGING. SERIOUSLY. I'm hostile already and fast approaching stabby.

Nanowar? Really? (I love Fridays off. I need more of these.)
In other news, we're moving! New place is 1 block north and 1 block east of where we live now, but the building is smaller, newer, the apartment is larger, and it has a WASHER AND DRYER IN IT. I'm thirty years old, and only just now can I wash my socks whenever I please without the need for quarters.
I feel so grown up.

Nobody really likes Celine Dion.
Not because she's Canadian or anything, but when it comes to musical choices, even Celine's most ardent fans aren't ... well, fanatics. Yeah, she's got a voice and she's a fine performer if you're into that. But there's no inspired frenzy or fervor. There's no unquestioned and unquestioning devotion. Nobody ever screams "CELIIIIIINE!" at a Michael Bublé or Barbara Streisand show. Reactions to Celine Dion come in three flavors: mocking amusement, lukewarm, and violent rejection. And, if I'm within arm's reach, playing Celine Dion will make me stab you in the face with whatever tool or office supplies I have on hand.
You have been warned.

I thought I had them all, but I don't. I know some are missing. But here's a list, in approximate chronological order, of all the concerts I've attended based on the ticket stubs I have saved since turning 18. antoninko and z0mb1 did this. I copy them. - OzzFest '97 (Type O Negative, Pantera, Marilyn Manson, Fear Factory, Machine Head; 29 Jun 97 at Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion)
- Danzig (Halloween 97 at the Whisky)
- Megadeth (29 Dec 97 at the Palladium)
- Henry Rollins Spoken Word (15 Jan 98 at Campbell Hall UCSB)
- Slayer (30 May 98 at the Palace)
- Slayer (27 Apr 99 at the Ventura Theater)
- GWAR (21 May 99 at the Ventura Theater)
- GWAR (23 May 99 at the Palace)
- GWAR (DragonCon 1-4 July 99 in Atlanta, GA)
- Rollins Band (31 Aug 99 at the Troubador)
- Fear Factory with Static-X (3 Sep 99 at the Ventura Theater)
- Alanis & Tori (25 Sep 99 at Irvine Meadows)
- The Misfits and GWAR (17 Oct 99 at the Glass House)
- Danzig (1 Nov 99 at the Palladium)
- Lords of Acid (11 Mar 00 at the Ventura Theater)
- Rollins Band (3 May 00 at the Whisky)
- Rollins Band (4 May 00 at the Whisky) [yea, twice in two days, including the drive to Hollywood from Santa Barbara. the opener, Apartment 26, was that good ... and they've never done anything since]
- MDFMK (22 Jun 00 at the Palace)
- Weird Al (25 Jul 00 at the Arlington Theater)
- Bad Religion (24 Sep 00 at the Glass House)
- November To Dismember (10-11 Nov 00 at the Orange Pavilion, San Bernardino) [I remember seeing Nile, Vader, Cephalic Carnage, and not much else...]
- Type O Negative (15 Dec 00 at the Ventura Theater)
- Type O Negative (18 Dec 00 at the House of Blues) [OOOOOH WHAT A SHOW!]
- Slayer, Pantera, and Static-X (19 Jul 01 at the Long Beach Arena) [I somehow don't have a stub for this one...]
- GWAR (8 Feb 02 at the Ventura Theater)
- Slayer (2 May 02 at the Grove of Anaheim)
- KMFDM (4 Jun 02 at the Palace)
- Kreator (1 Oct 02 at the Key Club)
- Type O Negative (24 Aug 03 at the House of Blues Hollywood)
- Slayer (28 Nov 03 at the Ventura Theater)
- Type O Negative (5 Dec 03 at the Warfield) [with Cradle of Filth, but we left before they went on]
- Opeth (30 Jan 04 at the House of Blues Anaheim)
- Ministry (25 Sep 04 at the House of Blues Hollywood)
- Slayer (17 Dec 04 at the Universal Amphitheater)
- Opeth (21 Oct 05 at the Meridian, Houston, TX)
- GWAR (19 Nov 05 at the Key Club)
- Opeth (14 Mar 06 at the Wiltern) [This was their Chronology show. It kicked much ass.]
- Slayer (22 Jul 06 at the Long Beach Arena) [with Children of Bodom, Mastadon, and Lamb of God; a truly awesome show]
- Type O Negative (22 Jan 07 at the House of Blue Anaheim)
- Type O Negative (20 Apr 07 at the Avalon (formerly the Palace))
- Type O Negative (22 Apr 07 at the House of Blues Anaheim) [This was another great weekend]
- Marilyn Manson and Slayer (24 Aug 07 at the Verizon Amphitheater (formerly Irvine Meadows))
- Hatebreed / Type O Negative (1 Jun 08 at the Avalon) [but the vibe of the crowd was rough and we left after Type O before Hatebreed went on]
- Pagan Knights Tour with Tyr and Alestorm (12 Mar 09 at the Knitting Factory)
- Flight of the Conchords (24 May 09 at the Greek Theater)
I think I'm missing a Type O Negative show in there in 2000. I remember going to the one at the House of Blues, but I also distinctly remember being at one in Ventura ... I got wine spilled on me. Or maybe I'm forgetting how long the drive home was (somebody else drove). HA! Found it! And there are probably a dozen shows in the 2002-2004 era that don't show up and don't count really because I went as the official photographer for LA Metal. And we didn't pay. =)
STATISTICS: Type O Negative - 9 times, Slayer - 8 times, GWAR - 6 times, Opeth - 3 times, Danzig, Marilyn Manson, and Rollins Band - 2 times each; Most concerts in a year - 9 in 1999

For the first time since achieving gainful employment, I dropped $1k on parts to build my own computer from the ground up.
It will finally make my games not cah-chunky-chunk.
It will be cooler than Bryce's.
It will glow blue. =)
